211 Drivers Screened at Vallejo, Solano County DUI Checkpoint

On September 10, 2021, the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) held a DUI Checkpoint at the intersection of Springs Road and Lain Drive in the City of Vallejo. The checkpoint was administered from 6:00pm – 12:00am and yielded the following results: 

  • 211 drivers screened for DUI & valid driver's licenses
  • Sixteen (16) drivers cited for driving with a suspended/revoked licensed or no license issued
  • Six (6) vehicles impounded
  • One (1) DUI arrest
  • One (1) weapons violation arrest
  • One (1) warrant arrest

Checkpoint locations are established based on collision statistics and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving while impaired. Funding for this checkpoint is provided to the Vallejo Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
